John Piper's 1993 Advent poem, "The Gadarene," has been adapted and put together with illustrations by Drew Blom to create Desiring God's first ever graphic novel—The Gadarene.

Alex wants to please his father, but always fails. He does not have the same dreams for money and success. Alex runs away from the difficulty at home to pursue his own romantic dreams of a simple life. With his dream seemingly in hand, his past comes back with a soul-wrenching vengeance.
