This week's sermon: "Our Deepest Prayer: Hallowed Be Your Name"
It is amazing that our Father in heaven cares about our ordinary and everyday lives. His own Son taught us to pray for the small things, like daily bread, forgiveness, and holiness.
But God loves us too much to leave us only in the simple and familiar. He also wants to draw us up into the spectacular and fantastic. And so his Son teaches us to pray also for the hallowing of his name, his kingdom coming, and his will being done.
He truly is our Father in caring deeply for the seemingly mundane and ordinary aspects of our lives. And he is truly in heaven in drawing us up into his global purposes and making us part of the great story that culminates in his Son.
Not only does he help us through the problems and pressures and pains of our lives by meeting our ordinary needs, but also by capturing our hearts to join him in his extraordinary mission.
