Martin Luther:
The worship of God . . . should be free at table, in private rooms, downstairs, upstairs, at home, abroad, in all places, by all people, at all times. Whoever tells you anything else is lying as badly as the pope and the devil himself. (What Luther Says, [St. Louis: Concordia, 1959], 1546)
The worship of God is not isolated to a Sunday morning gathering. It's for all of life. And at the same time, there is a uniqueness to the event of corporate worship. Meeting with the church in praise and prayer is a means of grace to which we should avail ourselves. We should maximize its meaning.
This is the subject of John Piper's seminar on corporate worship recently held in November. The seminar is divded into three sessions, plus an hour of Q&A with Pastor John and Bob Kaufin.
