To represent Jesus is the highest human calling possible. And it's a calling for a certain kind of life — one that goes low in humble service.
Jesus washes Peter's feet as an acted-out example for us. He shows us that no privilege or rank is held over others to assert its superiority. If we're to represent Jesus rightly, we'll take the mindset of a servant. We'll humble ourselves to get under others in order to lift them up.
This sermon is a call to follow Jesus and go low.
